You might have to get used to the idea that the most expensive things in your home will soon be out of your reach.
The year is almost over, but not for the better, according to the latest research from the research firm IHS Markit.
The company surveyed consumers about the cost of a range of new home furnishings, and found that most people are still living with the “slim-to-earth” feeling of the past year.
“There is a certain comfort with a little bit of furniture that you might not be comfortable with at first, but it is going to get cheaper and cheaper as the year goes on,” said IHS Brand Intelligence chief economist Andrew Chamberlain.
“So it is an expensive and not cheap, but in a good way,” he added.
The research shows that in the past 12 months, the average American’s home has spent $1,826 on furniture, up 8% from the previous year.
“A typical home now spends $7,904 on furniture,” Chamberlain told Business Insider.
The new research, which is based on IHS’s Consumer Expenditure Survey, is based at $1.24 billion per person, or about $9,000 per year.
That’s a slight jump from last year, when the average household spent $904 per year on household items.IHS also found that Americans are spending more on the basics of their homes, like their appliances, than ever before.
They spent $14,500 on appliances in 2018, up 4% from last.
And they’re spending more than they did in 2017, when they spent $13,400 on appliances, up 1%.
IHS predicts that this year, that number will rise to $18,400.
The average price of a new appliance is about $1 million.
The research found that the average price for a new bathtub is $2,400, a 6% increase from last summer.
I also saw a sharp rise in the number of homes with no gas in 2018.
In 2018, that rose to 6.5% of homes, up from 5.8% last year.
If you have a large family, you might want to consider putting gas in your new home.
Gas prices in 2018 were a little more than $3 per gallon.
A new study by IHS found that homebuyers in most of the nation are spending about $100 per month on gas, compared to the national average of $90.
That is a big jump from the $55 that IHS had predicted a year ago.
In 2018, gas was more expensive in many parts of the country than in 2016, with average gas prices in some states being $3.79 a gallon.
That average has now climbed to $4.14 per gallon in Texas, Georgia, and California, the report found.
