AUSTRALIA’S top pest control company is handing out millions of dollars in tax breaks to a former gardener who’s used his own equipment and tools.
Key points:Gardener, known as the “Gardner of Australia”, says his equipment has helped reduce the numbers of pests in his home for over a decade.
His company is also donating up to $10,000 to a charity supporting rural communities, which he said is ‘not enough’.
In addition to the $30,000 tax rebate, the company is donating up the $10000 to the Rural Local Community Development (RLCD) charity.
Gardners company, Biodiversity Products Ltd, has been working with the RLCD for over 10 years.
The company says it is not required to give back the tax rebate for a number of reasons.
It said it will donate the money to a local charity, which has no connection to the company.
It also said it does not receive a tax break on sales of products it supplies.
